Gold red

As the name suggests, this color has a very high content of gold, and has been called gold red since ancient times.

​

​Because of the large amount of gold used to create the rich red color, it is priced much higher than any other colored glass.

​

Gold red is a special existence not only in the lampwork glass but also in the world of kiriko(faceted) glass.  It's understandable that it was caught in the luxury prohibition order in the Edo period.
